Lesson Make-Up Policy

Lesson Makeup General Policy

Students may have one makeup lesson per semester (non-accumulative) for lessons missed due to illness or family schedule conflicts. The lesson will be rescheduled at the convenience of the teacher. If a faculty member is absent, the lesson(s) will be made up.

Lesson Makeup (Inclement Weather)

Students living within Johnson County may have one inclement weather makeup lesson per year. Students living outside of Johnson County may have two inclement weather makeup lessons per year. The lesson(s) will be rescheduled at the convenience of the teacher.

Note: Individual lessons & chamber coachings will be held if safe for both teacher & student. Contact your teacher directly to cancel your lesson if you cannot arrive safely.

Orchestra, Group, Ensemble, Certificate Program, & Music Together Classes will not meet when the Iowa City School District cancels or dismisses classes early due to inclement weather. These classes will not be made up.
