The safety and well-being of our students, families, faculty, and staff is a top priority and the decision to close, delay, postpone, or reschedule the school’s programs is taken seriously.
Weather-related closures or delays will be announced in the notification bar at the top of this website, Preucil School of Music’s Facebook page, Preucil Preschool’s Facebook and the Preucil Music Together Facebook page.
In general:
- Orchestra, Group and Certificate Program will not meet when the Iowa City School District cancels or dismisses early and if evening school activities are cancelled due to inclement weather.
- Individual Lessons & Chamber Coachings will be held if safe for both teacher and student. Please contact your teacher directly.
- Preucil Preschool will close if the public schools close. If the public schools delay start or dismiss early, Preucil Preschool will delay start or Extended Day will dismiss early by the same amount.
- Music Together will not meet when the Iowa City School District cancels or dismisses early due to inclement weather. When Iowa City delays school start for 2 hours due to inclement weather, a Music Together class will be held at 11:00 for both 9:00 & 10:00 students who wish to attend.
