Casey Jay’s Place of Play

Introducing Casey Jay’s Place of Play.
Casey Jay was a beloved preschool parent who shared her beautiful daughter with us. We were saddened last Fall when, after a hard fought battle, she passed away. We are so honored and privileged to have received Casey’s memorial funds. While we are very sorry for the way in which we received these funds, we hope that in some small way we can honor Casey’s life and her daughter’s memories of her with this magical space for children. This playspace is not only a gift to our school, but a lasting tribute to the love and care Casey gave so freely to her family and especially to her daughter.
We want to thank Emily Pritchard who so lovingly took on the task of nurturing this space to become what it is and Kirsten Williamson for contributing her creative talents. This space was powered by the determination and fierceness that can only be described as motherly love, inspired by Casey. We thank the many volunteers that stepped up to help, not necessarily because they knew Casey, but because they heard her story and were inspired.
We hope to have created a space where wonder, play, and imagination will thrive. The space will become our outdoor classroom as we learn and investigate in the many areas. May this space grow with joy and care, just as Casey nurtured those she loved, especially her daughter. .And we hope the children who play here might feel, even in a small way, her beautiful spirit.
We will share more in the upcoming days about all the pieces and parts that make up the space.
