Tyler is an Iowa City native and an alumnus of the Preucil School of Music. Tyler holds a B.A. from Luther College, a M.M. from Wichita State University, and a D.M.A. from the University of Iowa. He received his Suzuki Piano training from the late Mary Craig Powell, former chair of the International Suzuki Piano Committee. Prior to joining the Preucil piano faculty, Tyler was the former Piano Department Head at the Talent Education Suzuki School. The consummate musician, Tyler is an accomplished pianist and has been a Suzuki teacher since 2004.
